Prophet Mohammad (S)‏ said:

O people! This [world] is the house of pain and not the house of joy, the house of writhing [in pain] and not the house of repose. So he who knows this will neither rejoice for ease nor will he grieve for misfortune.

أَيُّهَا النَّاسِ هَذِهِ دَارُ تَرَحٍ لَا دَارُ فَرَحٍ وَ دَارُ الْتِوَاءٍ لَا دَارُ اسْتِوَاءٍ فَمَنْ عَرَفَهَا لَمْ يَفْرَحْ لِرَجَاءٍ وَ لَمْ يَحْزَنْ لِشَقَاءٍ
