I congratulate Mr. Mohammad Rasoulof and the team of actors and producers of the film “Dane Anjir Maabed” for receiving the Cannes Film Festival Award.

Mr. Rasoulof deserves this award because, during all the years of imprisonment and restrictions in Iran, he tried to bring the voices of our compatriots to the world through the lens of cinema, regardless of political categories.

I wish this Iranian director more success during his forced exile, and once again congratulate him and the independent Iranian cinema for receiving this award.
Hoping for the victory of light over darkness and the return of artists and Iranians in exile to our dear homeland, Iran, as soon as possible.
