Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive our sins and protect us from the torment of the fire.

Quran 3:16

Our Lord, do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us. Grant us Your mercy: You are the Ever Giving.

Quran 3:8

What can my enemies do to me? My Paradise is in my heart; wherever I go, it goes with me.

— Ibn Taymiyyah, Al-Wābil al-ṣayyib, p. 48

Our Lord, do not punish us if we forget or fall into error. Our Lord, do not burden us as You burdened those before us. Our Lord, do not burden us with more than we have strength to bear. Pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy on us. You are our Protector, so grant us victory over the disbelievers.

Among the beautiful names of Allah is Al-ʿAfūw, the One who erases sins and overlooks acts of disobedience. The name is akin to Al-Ghafūr, but carries a more expansive meaning. While al-ghufrān involves concealing a sin, al-ʿafuw erases the very trace of sin entirely.

— Ibn al-ʿUthaymīn, Al-Maqṣid al-asná, i. 140

Our Lord, pour upon us patience, make us stand firm, and grant us victory over the disbelievers.

Quran 2:250

Our Lord, grant us good in this life, and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the torment of the fire.

Quran 2:201

Our Lord, accept from us. You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. Our Lord, make us devoted to You; make our descendants a community devoted to You. Show us how to worship and accept our repentance. You are the One who accepts repentance, the Most Merciful.

Quran 2:127-8

Guide us to the straight path: the path of those You have favoured—not of those who incur Your anger nor of those who have gone astray.

Whatever revelation We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, We replace with something better or similar. Do you not know that Allah is able to do all things?

Quran 2:106

Al-Ḥayy al-Qayyūm

When paired together, these make up the greatest name of Allah. And when called upon, He responds; when asked, He provides.

Al-Ḥayy refers to a perfect life that had no beginning and will never know an end.

Al-Qayyūm refers to the One who stands on His own without the need or support of His creation, yet supports and sustains all of His creation in return.

— Ibn al-ʿUthaymīn, Majmūʿ fatāwá wa rasāʾil al-shaykh, vi. 138

Abū Bakr said, "Do not look down on any Muslim, because even the smallest of them is regarded greatly by Allah."

— Suyūṭī, Jamʿ al-jawāmīʿ no. 7521

Fifteen years ago, we would wake up at fajr to the sound of Ibn Baz’s walking stick, moments before the call to prayer was heard. He would use it to knock on every door he passed.

— ʿUmar Saʿīd, Mawāqif muḍīʿah, p. 230
