▫️The use of estrogen component alone as contraceptive increases the risk of occurrence of endometrial carcinoma by 5–15 folds. This risk is nullified by combining the estrogen component with the progestin component.
▫️The addition of progestin along with estrogen counteracts the risk of occurrence of endometrial carcinoma; however, this combination increases the risk of occurrence of breast carcinoma by 4 folds when compared to the estrogen component alone.
