Dear organizers of the Grammy Awards,
We are two days away from the Grammy awards.
I’m sure you’ve heard about beloved famous Iranian dissident rapper, Toomaj Salehi.
Do you know what is his crime? His songs! Using his voice for the voiceless and for the "woman, life, freedom" revolution in Iran.
It is worth mentioning that he has been also an advocate for Ukrainian.
It's been nearly 100 days that he's in solitary confinement and facing charges that could be punishable by the death penalty.
I strongly believe he could have been the nomination, or better to say one winner of this year's Grammy awards because of his courageous lyrics and songs, which all have revealed the propaganda of the totalitarian regime of Iran.
Since Toomaj Salehi is in prison for his song, he deserves to be noticed for his situation and convey this message that "we are all thinking of you, and you are not alone". Accordingly, I respectfully urge you and the rap section winner of the Grammy awards to mention his name on the stage and call for his freedom.
Your voice could somehow save his life, as well.
Sincere greetings,
