Dear colleagues,
We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Associate to make a leading contribution to the research project, Strategies to Strengthen European Linguistic Capital in a Globalised World (MultiLX). This project is funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe scheme. The successful candidate will contribute primarily to the Galician strand of the project, examining the linguistic practices of young people in the context of language revitalisation and multilingualism, as part of the Languaging in Europe work package, led by Bernie O’Rourke.
The role involves direct involvement in data collection, analysis, and synthesis of findings from the Galician ethnographic case study which will be undertaken in the Autonomous Community of Galicia in North West Spain. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project as opportunities allow. They will contribute to research outputs, help organise research events, and collaborate with international teams to support the broader objectives of the project. They will be based within the Language and Society Research Cluster in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures at the University of Glasgow and will also be part of the larger research network Language and Society in Scotland (LASS).
Informal enquiries can be directed to Professor Bernadette O’Rourke, Bernadette.ORourke@glasgow.ac.uk
This post is full time and has funding for up to 24 months.
