𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗜𝗠𝗢 , 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 , 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗴𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

1- Massive mimo refer to the ability to use large number of antenna elements in Tx and Rx sides

Massive means alot of antenna like more than 8*8

Mimo used in 2 main applications :

1- spatial multiplexing ( increasing the rate by sending independent data stream in to multiple antenna )

2- Transmit diversity ( increasing the quality and availability by sending the Same data stream via different antenna )

2- Beam forming is the way to direct the beam to a specific user instead of broadcasting it with in the whole cell

This could reduce the interference and improve the signal quality and power budget

Directing the beam could be done by using phase shifters to control the phase shift and delay of the signal among multiple arrayed antenna to allow constructive interference in some antenna and destructive interference in other direction

3- Carrier aggregation is a technique used to allow the use to combine multiple carriers to increase the bandwidth and therefore increasing the data rate

It's applied in LTE and 5G

Carriers could be combined within same band ( intra band ) or within 2 different bands ( interband ) , adjacent ( contiguous ) or separate with gabs ( non contiguous )

In 5G we could reach more than 800 MHz bandwidth by using this technique
